Omosalewa Temidayo Fajobi is a lawyer by training, with a degree in law from the University of Lagos and a Masters in Corporate & Commercial Law from the University of London. She is vastly experienced in the corporate legal and financial industries having worked within the legal services industry and then in various capacities within local and international banks.
Omosalewa’s career started at the law firm of Babalakin & Co after her call to bar in 2000. There, she was introduced to the finer points of litigation, real estate law and the legal aspects of commercial transactions. She quickly moved into the banking industry with her roles in Access Bank Plc
(2002) where she was the lead credit analyst in the legal department, in addition to her work in legal advisory; Standard Chartered Bank Limited (2005) where she was the pioneer compliance risk manager, commencing her professional interest in compliance and governance; and Oceanic Bank Plc (2006) where she performed functions spanning company secretarial, litigation, legal advisory and international banking.
In 2010, Omosalewa started a career in consulting for SMEs in strategy, operations and corporate governance. She also acts as external company secretary to several firms within the oil & gas services and real estate industries. From 2014 to 2017, Omosalewa led the efforts of the International Finance Corporation (a member of the World Bank Group), under the auspices of the Africa Corporate Governance Program, in improving corporate governance (CG) knowledge and practices in Nigeria.
She is currently Director, Secretariat at Tengen Holdings Limited, a pan-African investment holding company with its focus on the financial services, oil & gas, digital technology and real estate industries.
Omosalewa is very interested in promoting the wellbeing and advancement of young adults through enablement, mentoring and encouraging leadership. She has worked informally with young adults for over a decade and, more recently, as an officer in the Teenagers’ Ministry of Ikoyi Baptist Church, Lagos. She has two beautiful daughters who share her belief that taking time to read books and listen to music are amongst the two best ways to live life fully.
